Early Years

Foundation ~

We now know all the common sounds of the alphabet. We can write a retell of a story.

Early Years ~

Lower Years ~

In the 3/4 area this week we had swimming so it was a busy week! We also began celebrating National Sorry Day ready for National Reconciliation Week. We made National Sorry Day Reconciliation hands with a sorry message on them that were placed at the Sorry Day Commemoration on Friday 26th May.

Our School Swimming Program

What a week! Our children across the school have had a week of high energy, big smiles and great learning. Swimming week provides all students with the opportunity to learn in so many ways, learning new skills in the pool, taking risks and stepping out of their comfort zones at times. This week has been a huge week in personal development for our children, their independence has grown, their resilience strengthened and their joy in learning new things in a different environment has deepened.  We are all incredibly proud of our children, especially in the moments they had to be brave, try something new and when they were extremely tired after a big week the way they persisted and kept on shining bright while representing our school.

Swimming is very fun!
I like floating on my back by myself.
I learnt how to be BRAVE! Upkar Yr 1 JW
I learnt how to swim better. Kaileah Yr 1 JW
Swimming is really fun!
I learnt how to swim freestyle.
There are fun activities!

Wonder Recycling Program ~

Our school has signed up to the Wonder Recycling Program, we are asking if students can bring in their empty bread bags to place in the collection bins, which have been placed around the school. (one outside Foundation space, one in space between 3/4 and 5/6, one in 1/2 area and one in the office area)

These bread bags will be weighed at the end of collection time (start July). Then the school receives points which can be used to purchase sports equipment.

Please note:

It doesn't have to be Wonder bread bags only. The rule of thumb is that if it has contained bread of some sort and is a soft plastic, then it’s a bread bag. If it hasn’t contained bread, then it’s not a bread bag.

Bread bags should be free from crumbs to ensure no contamination during the recycling process but they do not need to be washed.

Thank you so much for your support.
