With another 11mm of rainfall this week the College staff are quite happy about the opening of the season.

Seeding

Mr Falkingham has been very busy at Pastures seeding the PWD paddock earlier this week with late season rye grass and Persian clover. Some paddocks on the Dairy flats have been speed tilled ready for a ryegrass and clover mix. In addition, Mr Edwards and his students have been grubbing out some Apple of Sodom in the Beef paddocks ready for spraying and seeding.

Intensive

At Intensive Mrs Warden and her students have marked 29 Dorper lambs this week with 17 wether and 12 ewe lambs.

Sheep

The Merino ewes crossed with Poll Dorset Rams are almost half way through lambing.

Cattle Club

Mrs Quilty held Cattle Club on Monday after school with 8 students making their way up to the Beef section to halter break and brush the stud beef heifers.

Dairy

Finally at Dairy, Ms Holmes entered a team of cows into the FarmWest WHITE GOLD On-Farm Competition for 2023 and placed eighth in the 3rd Lactation and ninth in the Same Sire Group sections.

We hope that you all have a good weekend.
