Student Support

Learning through Lockdown

During these 'interesting' times, support to make our children's remote learning as stress-free as possible for all concerned, is very much needed. In this video, Sue Larkey shares some helpful strategies that are worth considering. Even though she mentions these are helpful for students with additional needs, they are common sense strategies that would benefit all students. She highlights the benefits of:

  • using timers
  • next, now, later visuals / timetables
  • only giving 2 'real' choices
  • maintaining social skills
  • using cooking as a learning experience (organisational, sequencing, measuring, reading skills etc)

Please take the time to view this video and visit her website. Her newsletter has lots of ideas to help with all those tricky situations that you may be faced with during your child's development.
