From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians.

Welcome back to  the start of Term 3.  It is definitely  not what we were expecting at the end of Term 2!!!!! I trust families were able to enjoy the holiday period. This term will provide challenges that as a community we will face together. The teachers have planned to ensure that the students have positive learning experiences. We are fortunate to have the quality of teachers we do have at St Bede's.

You will also notice the newsletter is in a different format.  This will allow the newsletter to be viewed clearly on whatever device you have  e.g computer or phone. It also allows us to insert videos etc when required.

Remote Learning

This term we see a return to remote learning. Our students became very familiar with the process during Term Two and the staff are implementing a very similarly process this term.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. Once again the focus for remote learning at St Bede's is to continue the learning Journey for each of our students.

Students onsite

When onsite learning is provided, temperature checks will be conducted and hand sanitiser will be available.  The learning program delivered onsite will be the same as the learning program delivered to students undertaking remote learning. Students learning onsite will be supervised by school staff but not necessarily their own classroom teacher. The students will be  supervised and follow the teaching and learning program provided by their classroom teacher. The students onsite will be expected to access their learning independently as the teachers  and LSO's supervising, will be online with the students at home

Face Masks/Covering

In line with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, school-based primary school staff in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will be required to wear a face mask at school, and when travelling to and from school.

Teachers and education support staff will not be required to wear face coverings while teaching, but those who wish to will do so. Teachers will be wearing face coverings in other areas of the school when not teaching (for example, in the staffroom, on yard duty, and when providing first aid or taking temperatures), and when travelling to and from school.

Students who attend primary school for onsite supervision will not be required to wear a face covering.

French

As most people are aware Madame Aurelie left earlier this year to return to France. Aurelie was an integral part of our French program for a number of years and we thank her for everything she contributed to St Bede's.  This week we welcome Madame Sarah to our staff as our  new language assistant. Sarah has been dropping in on classes google meets to introduce herself to the students and to assist the teachers with our French program.

Enrolments 2021

We are currently working on our enrolments for  2021. If you are aware of any families who are interested in enrolling for  Prep  2021 please let them know to contact the office.   Also if  your child is leaving St Bede's at the end of Yr 4 can you also please confirm with Chris in the office in the next week.

Enjoy your week

Brian
