Reading

“In reading we have been visualising. We have had to make our own descriptive language text and share it with a partner. They then had to try to draw the picture” - Jessica

Writing

"In Writing this week, I have enjoyed doing our 'see think wonder' because I love using a picture stimulus. I also love writing narratives because I like being able to use adjectives to make my pieces interesting and I love being able to be creative." - Molly

“We are starting to do narratives. We have been using the: see, smell, taste, hear and touch strategy. Narratives are my favourite writing genre” - Cailin

Maths

We could choose a bar graph, pictograph, pie chart and a line graph" - Blake L

“In Maths we have been using Essential Assessment to see what we know on topics. We have been learning about square numbers, adding decimals and viewing graph data and placing it into frequency tables”. - Gilbert

Science

Have you ever wondered if that thing you’re holding could snap, tear or stretch? Well this week our grade 3 and 4 students have finally picked up a clothes peg and put it to good use (don’t we wish they’d do this at home!), by using it as a clamp to put this theory to the test to great effect.

MakeyMakey has arrived thanks to our school community getting behind the Woolworths Earn and Learn program, and the senior school students are loving it. Who knew you could play video games using play-dough or turn your best friends into piano keys, while learning about electrical circuits!
