From the Principal

Dear Families,

It was so lovely to have our students back together last week for our Book Week Celebrations.  The students looked amazing at the parade.

We have a few busy weeks leading up to the end of Term. We look forward to welcoming parents this week to our Athletics day and Father's Day lunch.

Child Safe Standards

Swan Hill North Primary School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Our school community recognises the importance of, and a responsibility for, ensuring our school is a safe, supportive and enriching environment which respects and fosters the dignity and self-esteem of children and young people, and enables them to thrive in their learning and development. Child Safe Standards aims to protect children and reduce any opportunities for child abuse or harm to occur. It also assists in understanding how to avoid or better manage risky behaviours and situations. It is intended to complement child protection legislation, Department policy, school policies and procedures and professional standards, codes or ethics as these apply to staff and other personnel.

Hats

Just a reminder that students will need to wear their school hat on the 1st of September. If your child’s hat is frayed or damaged, it will need to be replaced. SHNPS hats can be purchased at the office.

Professional Practice Days

The professional practice days (PPDs) are an element of the Victorian Government Schools Agreement (VGSA) 2017 (pdf - 904kb).

Professional practice days provide teachers with release from their scheduled duties (all duties which would have been otherwise scheduled, including teaching) to focus on the improved delivery of high quality teaching and learning.

The proposed Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022, provides teachers with three professional practice days in 2022, two professional practice days in 2023 and one professional practice day in 2024 and beyond.

Professional practice days are pro rata for a teacher employed part-time.

This term our Professional Practice day will be held on Thursday 15th September. Students are not required at school on this day.

Futsal

Congratulations to Byron, Curtis, Kaide and Tony who won the Futsal premiership last week with Son Centre Christian College. The boys did SHNPS very proud.

Have a good week.

Kind regards,
