Holt Athletics
On Thursday 2nd September a team of 58 students from year 3-6 competed at the Holt District Athletics Competition. This was the first time this event has been held in three years so it was great to have it on again. St James finished 3rd overall which was a fantastic achievement.

St James Colour Explosion Run
WOW what a day! So much fun was had at the Colour Run on Friday 2nd September. The sun was shining and there was a feeling of Spring in the air. A huge thank-you to Kate Korber for all of her hard work behind the scenes for so many things! Also thank-you to the parent volunteers who ran each of the stations. I am not sure who was actually having more fun! Thank-you also to Fernanda for all the fabulous photos!
Footy Day
Yesterday the Year 6s ran a very successful footy day. All the students came in their favourite footy team colours and as soon as the day started we lined up in our AFL teams so we could start the parade. Then all the footy team supporters paraded around the race track while their team songs played.
At midday we started setting up and cooking the sausages while the Preps, 1s and 2s did their activities. We had four activities, the activities were handballing accuracy, handballing or kicking into a bucket, kicking into the goals, and marking the ball.
Winners
Foundation: Bailey Year 1: William & Ethan Year 2: Paras & Ruby
Year 3/4C: Sienna & Ethan C Yr 3/4CC: Lachie & Thomas
Year 5: Lenni, Lucy and Kristian
Once all the activities were started we started serving food. Everyone who paid $10 got 2 sausages, a juice box and a packet of popcorn. We ended up raising around $1000 which is amazing.
A big thank you to William's (Yr 1) brother Tom who plays for the Kangaroos in VFL. He came into the school and taught all of us how to kick. And another big thank you to Susan Conterno, Mel Harrington, Mel Storer and Mel Fuller. They brought the sausages, the popcorn and the juice boxes as well as, setting up prizes and came into school to help us with the food.
