Deputy Principal's News

Friday 16th September, 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today we say goodbye to what has been a very busy yet exciting Term 3.  Term 4 commences on Monday 3rd October.  As the warmer months fast approach, so do summer uniforms.  Please see the attached information.

Summer Uniforms

A reminder that all students should be wearing their summer uniforms to school commencing Term 4.  Wearing of the school navy legionnaire's cap or wide-brimmed hat is compulsory during terms 1, mid -late term 3, and term 4.  If your child is unable to wear the correct school uniform on a given day, please inform your child’s classroom teacher.

Please refer to the following website, should you need to purchase uniform items https://nichollsschoolwear.com.au/.

With COVID-19 restrictions easing up, we are now able to gather as a community and celebrate.  This year we will host an inaugural Christmas night at school.  There will be Christmas Carols, the school Art Show and more.   Further details will be shared soon.  Please save the date.

School Holidays

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all families an enjoyable end of term break.  We look forward to seeing you all back next Term as we begin the final term of the school year.

School Crossing Safety

It has been brought to my attention that some students may be getting in and out of cars on North Rd at the crossing intersection or near the Fire Hydrant.

For Child Safety PLEASE DO NOT let students out or in of the car on North Rd at the crossing.

Please use the circular drop off at the end of St James Close and or on Osborne Ave.

Covid-19 Safety at School (Updated protocols)

RAT Screening update:  From Monday 23 May 2022, MACS does not

recommend that non-symptomatic students or staff conduct RATs twice a week in mainstream schools.

At St James we have put a number of strategies in place to reduce the risk of transmission.  No one strategy is 100% effective.

Here are just some of the ways we are doing to keep our Students, School community and Staff safe and well.

In light of current restrictions and inline with our School Covid Safety we ask that you respect and follow the following guidelines.

Reporting a Student Positive RAT / PCR Result

We have devised a Parent Step by Step guide to assist you in the event that you need to report a positive result to the school!
