Ocean School
From Space to Ocean
MGSC's connection with CASE (California Association for STEAM Education) was formed with our successful trips to Space School at NASA facilities in the US. The relationship continues at Ocean School which provides students with an all-encompassing STEAM experience including marine biology, ocean ecology, cutting-edge research and technologies. In the most recent holidays, students in years 7 to 9 elected to participate in the program.
Ocean School was amazing. I learned so much more than I already knew, making my passion for marine biology stronger. My favourite place would have to be the turtle rehabilitation centre. We learnt about the life of a turtle called Barneyi and what happened with landfill making him sick and not being able to dive down and get food. Overall ocean camp was great and I recommend it to others for next year.

Congratulations to Erin McC (Year 10) who has received a full scholarship to CASE Senior Ocean School in 2023. Erin’s commitment to studies, passion for the ocean and focus on supporting ocean sustainability into the future contributed to her successful submission.
The scholarship place was generously funded by the California Association of STEAM Education (CASE) as part of the organisation’s aim to offer students the highest standard of STEAM learning; collaboratively and globally. CASE Ocean School is an experience like no other! A holistic STEAM ocean adventure in world-renowned Australian locations.
Congratulations Erin!
