SEVR Intermediate Bandfest
On Thursday 11 August, 24 Year 8 students went to Mordialloc College for the South East Victorian Region (SEVR) Intermediate Bandfest, an event where students from many schools all come together to play music.
Getting on the bus we were excited to play but nervous to do it with other people. In the end we made lots of new friends and reunited with old ones. We learnt and rehearsed three new, exciting and beautiful pieces: A Pirate’s tale, Downton Dash and A Childhood Hymn.
The day turned out to be a huge success. Everyone had a great time and learnt a lot!!
A huge thanks to Mr Veevers for organising it and to Ms Kerr and Ms Harvey for taking us.

Disney concert
For many weeks, vocal students and the All Star Choir with the Madrigal had been practising Disney songs to perform, and on Friday 12 August, we all got to see their hard work and dedication pay off. Students performed a range of songs, such as “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, “I See the Light” from Tangled, “Home” from Beauty and the Beast, and many more. The All Star Choir with the Madrigal also performed “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the hit movie Encanto.
It was such an amazing experience to see how talented the students were. The enjoyment and excitement was never-ending from the audience, as we got to experience songs we have cherished, and the amazing talent accomplished by the students.
This concert wouldn’t have been possible without Ms West, whose continuous support, encouragement and guidance made this concert achievable. I’d also like to thank Miss Harvey, who’s support throughout Choir practice and for playing the accompaniment for “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” which helped us immensely. My thanks also to Mr Eric Ho on the day who helped with the sound for the Disney Concert! Thank you all!
