Principal's message

Dear MGSC community

How can so much activity be squeezed into four weeks?  Well that is what the wonderful staff at MGSC have done and their energy levels are high in spite of the cold weather.

The Addams Family Production is now in full swing and the performances are sold out.  I will be attending the matinee session on Saturday as well as joining our wonderful PFA volunteers who are manning the kiosk in the foyer.

Jenny Connolly, as the Director, has worked tirelessly on this long overdue Production.  You may remember that it was scheduled for 2020, then 2021 and now finally it has come into fruition in 2022.  There have been many days of rehearsal, costume fittings, dress rehearsals, and now the performances.  The regular team that have supported Jenny on this journey are Tim Veevers, Sarah-Louise Jacobs, Wendy Harvey, Sara Robertson, Fiona Faulkes and Eric Ho.  They have stayed back after school, come in over weekends and during the holiday break. Without their commitment to the students an experience like this wouldn’t be possible.

The Aerobics squad made its way to the Gold Coast Thursday to prepare for competing over the weekend in the Nationals.  The great thing about the aerobics program is that the coaches are also former students, showing that we not only produce students who excel whilst at MGSC but we value and connect with former students as well.  The students will be accompanied by a family member and the support of the families is much appreciated.  I wish the students all the best of luck for the Nationals Competion.

My thanks to Tess Molina who heads up the program and will be travelling up to the Gold Coast to be with the students. Go MGSC Aerobics team!

Kind regards
