Winter Magic Market Wrap Up

Tanya Pittard

This year School Council had budgeted for Winter Magic Market to bring in revenue of $30,000 with a hoped-for profit of $15,000. However, it is with sincere gratitude for the hard work so many families put into making the Winter Magic Market such a success that we announce the results of our major fundraising activity.

The 2022 market made a net profit of a little more than $39,000!

Paring down the market and focussing on holding an event for the school community still raised almost the same amount as in 2019, with significantly less lead time needed, less wastage produced and less pressure on those wonderful members of the school community who put aside the time to volunteer.

It is also lovely to see that the volunteering spirit is so alive and well in our students, with so many of them following the example of their parents and supporting the event by volunteering at a stall and/or taking part in performances. The community connection created by this intergenerational camaraderie was wonderful to see.
