Happy Fathers' Day to our Belmore Dads

Wishing all our Belmore fathers, grandfathers and special family members a very happy Father’s Day.  Hopefully the special delivery your child brought home this afternoon will assist in your celebrations on Sunday. Sadly our renovations have prevented us from celebrating with you here at Belmore yet again this year.

Professional Practice Day - Monday 31 October

The Department has recommended that schools hold a second common professional practice day to enable staff to undertake professional learning in a collaborative way and to ease the burden on replacement of staff in consideration of the current limited availability of casual replacement staff.  Subsequently the Belmore School Council has endorsed the date of Monday 31 October to be a pupil free day in Term 4.  This date was selected as it is the Monday before the Melbourne Cup holiday on the Tuesday when many families take the opportunity to have an extended four day break with their family.

Professional practice days provide school staff with release from their scheduled duties to focus on the improved delivery of high quality teaching and learning. On this professional practice day staff will undertake a 6 hour Key Word Sign workshop which otherwise could not be accommodated through our regular meeting schedule this year.

Book Week

Unfortunately I was unwell last week with laryngitis so missed all the fun that Book Week brings to our school community. Amongst the range of book week activities our students engaged in, the highlight of the week was our dress up day which is always such a fun way to enjoy and promote a love of reading.
