BUILDING FAMILY RESILIENCE

Do you have a common language around mental health in your home?

Mental health and wellbeing are a priority in all schools and at Oatlands we are incorporating wellbeing language and activities in our classrooms to support our students.

This year we are utilising the Smiling Mind Program to engage our students and further equip them to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.

If you’re a parent or carer, having strategies, tools and ways to communicate to your children is beneficial in helping them develop social and emotional skills. These are the skills that will help set them up to assist them to thrive in life.

Smiling Mind, after extensive consultation with children, their parents and carers, have developed the Resilient Families Program. The program's modules—each with bite-sized activities and videos—aim to help kids develop social and emotional skills and equip parents and carers with the tools to support them.

Any families who are interested in engaging in this program can download the FREE Smiling Minds app or click this link Resilient Families Information for more information.

We invite your feedback on how this has assisted your children and yourselves as parents/carers.
