VCE Programs

Our senior students are continuing to work hard in pursuit of their goals. Term 1 can be difficult because the first assessment tasks can be overwhelming and a source of anxiety. Students and parents are reminded of the importance of routine and planning for success. Students are encouraged to reach out to their teachers for clarity and support in their preparation for assessment tasks, revision strategies and preparation for future examinations.

Our Year 12 students have all been allocated a time to meet with our College’s Career Counsellor, Mr Bruce Topham, to begin planning for their futures after school. Students have been asked to prepare for these meetings by indicating areas of interest and any career aspirations they may have. If your child is still considering many options for their future, families may wish to consider attending The Age Careers Expo in May on Saturday 6 May (bookings can be made here: https://www.vceandcareers.com.au/). This expo can be helpful in providing insights into the wealth of options available to students, it is recommended for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 as it can also help with subject selections later in the year.

We are also very proud of our Vocational Major students who have been working towards launching their work in the Lantern Café. Last week, under the guidance of Ms Melanie Haider and Chef Kees Vanderlaan, our students made coffee for staff and practiced their customer service skills. Staff were impressed by their skills and thrilled by their professionalism. We look forward to their further engagement with the community as they continue to increase their skills and their micrcredentials.
