The Easter Egg Raffle will be drawn at a special assembly next Thursday, 6th April with the help of our very, very special guest. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the fun, in the Hub at 2.45pm. Please make sure your tickets and money are returned to the school office by Tuesday 4th April at the latest.
Scholastic Books
Thanks again for supporting the Scholastic Book Club. I hope everyone is enjoying their new books which we distributed late last week. The library received some new books too, purchased through reward points earned from Scholastic, which we plan to have covered and on the shelves ready for you to borrow early next term. Happy Reading!

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the St Michael's Annual Women's Brunch?
Traditionally held on the Sunday before Mother's Day in the Hub, the annual St Michael's Women's Brunch has been held almost continuously (thanks Covid!) for over 40 years. It is a celebration of the many gifts of the great women who build and enliven the St Michael's Community and is a recognition of all they contribute to make our school and parish such a vibrant community. The morning starts with a glass of bubbles or orange juice, then a fully catered High Tea style brunch with tea and coffee. There is a guest speaker, door prizes, a raffle and lots of opportunities to have a chat with friends.
Who organises it?
A small group of school Mums gather each year to organise the catering, decorations, guest speaker and charity that the event fundraises for.
Who can attend?
This is a ladies (and babies) only event - a chance to get a little dressed up (neat casual) and step away from normal Sunday mornings and recharge with a good laugh, good food and great conversation. A little bit of me time in the company of lots of fun women. You do not have to be a parent at the school (or even a parent at all) to attend, so please invite your Mum, Nanas, sisters, cousins, friends along to join us.
Who is the Guest Speaker this year?
This year we are very pleased to have Dr Magdalena Simonis speaking on the topic of "Women's Health: What Every Woman Should Know From Teens to Menopause". Dr Simonis is currently the President of the Australian Federation of Medical Women and regularly presents to governments and teaches on a wide range of topics supporting Women's Health. Recently listed by the Greek community as one of the 200 most influential Greek Women of the past 200 years, Magda is a warm and engaging speaker and a leading Women's Health Expert and gender advocate. We are so lucky to have her speak to us on a topic that touches all women, no matter where they are in their life's journey. This talk could literally save your life!
What Charity is the event fundraising for this year?
Each year, the St Michael's Women's Brunch fundraises for a charity connected to women, suggested by our guest speaker. Last year, we raised funds for Peter McCallum Think Pink. This year, we are supporting Counterpart, a peer support service for women in the community diagnosed with a gynaecological or breast cancer. It is run by trained peers who are cancer survivors. All funds raised from the raffle will be donated to Counterpart as thanks to Dr Simonis for her time in speaking to us at the brunch.
How much are tickets? How can I buy tickets?
Tickets are $40 per person and include bubbles on arrival, catered high tea style brunch, door prizes, tea and coffee. Tables can be arranged of up to 10 people per table. If you don't have anyone to attend with, we will try to place you on a table with other ladies from your child's year level. (Most year levels will arrange at least one table.) Tickets are available through Humanitix: https://events.humanitix.com/st-michael-s-women-s-brunch-kms2yo81 During registration you are able to give details of any dietary requirements and who you would like to sit with.
Any other questions? Please contact pfa@smashburton.catholic.edu.au or one of our committee members - Liz Fida, Elle Horbury, Lourice Sonego or Therese Molnar
