Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Last Friday some of our school leader's participated in the St Patrick's Day Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral. You can see a photo on our front cover of Archbishop Comensoli with some of our student leaders. At school, on the same day, our Foundation classes had their first Mass as a unit and their singing was beautiful and they listened very well. Thanks to their Grade 6 buddies in particular for setting a great example. A reminder that Enrolment Masses commence for First Communion this weekend at all Masses for those with children who will be receiving this Sacrament.

Last Sunday many of the staff of both St Anne's and St Joachim's attended our parish Mass at 10am. The congregation under Fr Martin's direction commissioned the staff to perform their role sharing a blessing with us. It was a very moving experience.

Year 3 and 5 students have concluded the annual NAPLAN testing. Mrs Chiodo and Mr Sullivan wish to thank parents for having their children at school for as many days as possible during this period.

Tomorrow the Year 5/6 students, as part of their Inquiry Learning, will attend the Immigration Museum in Melbourne. I trust they have a great day but also that they learn more about this area of the curriculum.

Our second, and final, open morning for prospective 2024 Foundation enrolments will be held on Monday 27th March. Please feel free to alert anyone you know who has expressed interest and ask them to ring the office to book in for the tour.

In sports news some of our talented Cross Country runners will be participating in the Division Cross Country on Wednesday 29th March and we wish them all the best. Our own House Sports will be held on Friday 31st March which will involve all of our students. Thank you Mrs Ary for your organisation of both of these events.

I have been alerted by our parent community that there has been an instance of a parent speaking crossly to another family's child in our yard. Please be reminded that this is not to occur and that if you have concerns around someone else's child the appropriate way to address this is through the office.

May peace be with you,

Rod Shaw

Principal
