TAS Times

2023 has started with a bang for students in the TAS faculty. Year 7 have been introduced their first of 3 Technology Mandatory Rotations (Digital Technology, Engineering Studies and Material Technologies: Textiles). Year 8 now have the opportunity to try 3 different rotations (Material Technologies: Timber, Agriculture and Food Technology).

Year 9 have settled into their new TAS electives of Food Technology, Industrial Technology: Timber and Year 10 are continuing to develop their skills, preparing for life after school. Our seniors have knuckled down and are busily preparing major works and portfolios, practicing HSC style questions and consuming content in Community & Family Studies, Hospitality, Design and Technology and Industrial Technology. 

A Special Shout Out must be given to Year 10 Food Technology, who have been trained in the use of the espresso machine and have started a "CHS Cafe" for staff that runs each fortnight. During these cafe periods, students work in groups to prepare and serve hot beverages including coffee, tea and hot chocolate, as well as a sweet accompaniment for morning tea.  They have also been practicing other cafe skills including bookkeeping, cleaning and folding washing.
