Reconciliation

A huge congratulations to the children who recieved Reconciliation over the weekend! This was a massive milestone for these children on their faith journey as they experienced the Sacrament for the first time. We are very proud of you all !

Class Masses

Next term we are looking forward to starting our class masses!!

Each class plans, leads and participates in a Class Mass. This has been a long standing tradition at SJV and has become a highlight students look forward to each year.  Class Masses take place on a Friday at 9:00.

The students, with their teachers, plan the themes of the Masses thinking about what they are learning in class as well as the Catholic Liturgical calander.

At the end of each Mass, students come to the staffroom to enjoy a morning tea with their families. We request that students bring a plate to share with a list of ingredients for those with allergies.

Please see the roster for class Masses below. I would encourage parents to pencil in these dates.

Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) Survey - Year 5 and 6 Students

Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne aim for continuous school improvement. An essential element of this improvement is understanding how students perceive the Catholic identity of our school and what they might like Catholic identity at St John Vianney's to look like in the years ahead.

Students have an important voice in our planning and so we will be asking all students in Years 5 and 6 to participate in the Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) Survey.

Student responses to the survey will assist us in better understanding how our Catholic identity is expressed. The results will contribute to a reliable picture of our school’s Catholic identity, which we will use to inform our school improvement for the next four years.

In the weeks ahead, each student in Years 5 and 6 will be asked to complete an online survey. At no time will students be named or identified in the survey; their responses are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Please contact Jonathan through the school office if you do not wish your child to participate in the ECSI Survey.
