 SongMakers Workshop

SongMakers Workshop

On Tuesday and Wednesday 21-22nd March sixteen students from our Year 10 and VCE music classes were lucky enough to participate in the SongMakers workshops. Over the two days, students were put into four groups and each group wrote and recorded a song. They worked with professional recording producers Anna Laverty, Liz Drummond, Donald and Hayden Lauerson, who between them have worked with artists such as Rodriguez, The National, City & Colour, Mumford & Sons, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Courtney Barnett, Meg Mac, Lady GaGa, G Flip, Montaigne, Ali Barter and Kira Puru.

The students did amazingly well, creating four songs from scratch and Anna, Liz and Hayden were really impressed with the talent, cooperative nature and kindness of the students involved.

Work in Progress Concert

On Tuesday 28th March, the music program will be running our first concert for the year, Work in Progress.

The bands and ensembles have all been working hard learning music and this concert is a chance to demonstrate the progress they have made over a short period of time.

The concert will start at 6pm in the Theatrette and admission is free.

Debut Concert

Unfortunately we have had to postpone the Debut Concert which was scheduled for Monday 27 March. It will now take place in Term 2 and more information will be posted closer to the date.

Instrumental Music Program

Our Training Band has started for the year, however, we still have vacancies for a number of instruments, particularly brass and woodwind. If you are still interested in learning an instrument but have yet to sign up, come and see Liesl on level 1 of the Enterprise building.
