Parenting children with ADHD free seminar

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder in Australia, affecting one in every 20 children.

Children with ADHD experience difficulties with:

inattention – having difficulty concentrating, forgetting instructions, moving from one task to another without completing anything
impulsivity – such as talking over the top of others, having a ‘short fuse’, being accident prone
overactivity – constant restlessness and fidgeting
emotional regulation
social navigation
sleep.

It is important to note that all young children have a limited attention span and sometimes do things without thinking, and not all children who do this have ADHD. Below is an information sheet that provides more, in-depth information about ADHD.

Parkdale Primary School has purchased a whole school licence for the "Parenting ADHD" seminar with Dr Justin Coulson. That means all staff and parents have FREE access to this online event.

In Parenting ADHD, Dr Justin Coulson will explore up-to-the-minute science on what ADHD is, why it occurs, and most importantly, what parents can do to create something at home that feels sane and balanced in an often-chaotic climate.

This online seminar will:

Explain what ADHD is and is not
Review science-supported strategies to help parents guide ADHD children successfully
Provide practical solutions to help create willing participation in family life with an ADHD child
Offer family-strengthening tips to support parents, strengthen relationships, and build bonds

Congratulations to the PPS Swimming Team who participated in the Mordialloc District S.S.V. Swim Carnival at Noble Park Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 1 March. PPA Parent's Night at Boatrocker

Parkdale Parents Association are pleased to invite you to the Parkdale Parent's Night 2023. This will be held on Thursday 23rd March from 6pm onwards at Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers. Tickets are $40 each and includes a drink on arrival, Dinner (Greek feast served family style) and Trivia.
