A message from Father Manny

Message to St. Joseph the Worker Primary School North Reservoir. (5.4.2023)

Greetings to you all: Maria, Leaders, Teachers and Staff, Students, Parents and families of our Saint Joseph the Worker Primary School, North Reservoir. We are completing the first term this week which is known in the church as the Holy Week. During this Holy Week in the church’s celebrations, we make a journey from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday remembering the suffering of Jesus and his death on the cross and that God raised the suffering Jesus from the dead. God showed his hand, God is the father, parent or mother, whose love will never fade away. The Palms, branches, flowers and gifts will fade away and disappear one day, but God’s love for us remains forever. On Holy Thursday (this last day of Term One) we celebrate God’s love in the Eucharist at the Mass of the Last Supper of Jesus when Jesus said for the bread and wine “This is my body, this is my blood, … given for you”. At the Last Supper Jesus washed the feet of his friends: disciples. This is a strong symbol of service, serving and helping one another. After washing the feet Jesus said to the disciples: “I have given you an example so that you may copy what I have done to you.” In every Eucharist we celebrate God’s love that gives us freedom to be able to live in hope. In serving and helping each other we are witnesses of hope for one another and we make Jesus Real. Thanks to all of you in our school community as we continue to work together. I wish you all a well-deserved resting time and may you all have a Happy Easter time full of many good things and many blessings.

May God’s blessings be with you all.

Manny Bonello
