The opening days for students to come and enjoy some quiet time are:

K/1/5/6 First break (Recess) Monday and Thursday

2/3/4 Second Break (Lunch) Wednesday and Friday

CLASS BORROWING DAYS ARE:

Year 2 Monday

Year 3 Friday

Year 4 Tuesday

Year 5 Friday

Year 6 Friday

Parents please make sure the students in K - 6 have a Library Bag on their borrowing days to take books home.

AUTHOR VISIT

Early Term 2 we will have a visit from author & illustrator Dr Cameron Stelzer. We are currently reading several of his books in our library lessons. They are very entertaining.

ANZAC DAY COMPETITION

Year 6 have been working on designing a commemorative sticker for ANZAC Day this year. This is part of a competition being run by Koori Kids, focused on developing a greater understanding and awareness of the importance of respect on ANZAC Day. The students have been researching ANZAC Day to decide what symbols and message is appropriate for their designs. These will be submitted by the end of term.

BOOK CLUB

Book Club 2 is open for orders. Please login on the Scholastic website to place your order. Orders close on the 24th March 2023.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

I have registered new students to the challenge and handed out log ins. If your child would like to join in, and they haven't participated before, please etell them to come and see me in the library. If your child has participated before they can simply us their old log in.

The dates for 2023 are -

27 February 2023- challenge opens for student registration and entries

Friday 18 August 2023 - challenge closes for student entries

Getting started with Sora

With Sora, you can get free ebooks and audiobooks from your school.

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

In Sora, click on I have a setup code, then sign in.

Note: If you need your sign-in information (like an ID, username, or password), it is the same one you use to log into your chromebook.

Sign into your School – Select your school - ACEN

Step 3______________________________________________________

Browse the

tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4______________________________________________________

Close the book and go to

see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

Select Open book or Open audiobook to read or listen to the book.
Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Premiers Reading Challenge Books can be found in Collections in folders marked NSW Premiers Reading Challenge K-2, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 3-4, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 5-6.
