Co-curricular - Senior Sport
ISA Swimming
On Wednesday15 March, the St Patrick’s College Swimming Squad competed in the annual Independent Sporting Association (ISA) Swimming Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (SOPAC). Notable highlights from the day include:
- Zac Bromfield – 3rd Place in the 12 Year Boys 50m Breaststroke
- Noah Kite – 3rd Place in the 17 Year Boys 50 Backstroke
- Austin Hall, James Kelly, Nicholas Macher and Jaiken Poon in the 200m Intermediate Freestyle relay team also placing 3rd.
Well done to those boys listed above who will represent the College at the NSW CIS Swimming Championships in the near future.
Overall results saw St Patrick’s College placed 6th in the Aggregate Shield. All of our squad must be congratulated for their efforts throughout the season both at training and in their participation at the ISA Swimming Carnival.
NSW Diving Age Championships
Congratulations to our students who recently made quite the splash at the NSW Open and Age Diving Championships. Anthony del Popolo (Year 10) came away with two silver, and one bronze medal in the 3m and 1m Platform events respectively. This is a huge feat given that Anthony had to step-up to the U16-18 age group and was therefore competing against older boys. Vincent Pappalardo (Year 8) secured two gold medals in the 3m and Synchronized events and two silver medals in the 1m and Platform events. These are outstanding results and we are very proud of both boys who, after the break, will go on to compete in the Australian Age Diving Championships. Good luck gentlemen!
Uniform and attendance
All boys should be aware of where their team is playing each week and be correctly attired for their match. Boys attending fixtures in support are also reminded to wear their Supporter’s shirt and College black crested shorts/tracksuit. If boys wish to wear a hat for sun protection, only the black College cap is to be worn.
Any request for leave from training or games should be made in advance and forwarded to Mr Fochesato or me in writing.
