Sustainability at St Raphael's

Welcome back to the Garden!

Welcome back and we trust you have had a fantastic summer break beating the heat! It's been a HOT HOT HOT start to our year but there's nothing like getting outdoors and lazing about in the shade or at the beach enjoying the fabulous Australian sun.

A big thank you to the Liaskos (Sophie), Mynard (Nova) and Seddon (Elsie) families for being our holiday chook chums and helping our garden survive over the summer break.  We are most grateful for your assistance in keeping our garden and chooks alive and well.

Garden Club is back!

A reminder to all students Garden Club runs most Tuesdays and Thursday from the Garden Shed during the first half of lunch.  Together we enjoy caring for our vegetable garden, harvesting, cooking and craft activities.  Each week is different and new members are always welcomed.

Sensational Sunflowers!!

Back in November our garden club members planting sunflower seeds that were harvested from last year's crop.  Over the summer, these seeds grew into the most spectacular display of sunflowers growing tall and strong - reaching for the sun.  The sunflowers have welcomed beneficial insects to our garden and encouraged birds to visit our school as well.
