New staff at St Albans Secondary College

Dane Stammers

After starting my teaching career at Mullauna College a few years ago, I’m really excited to be joining the team at SASC in 2019. I’ll be teaching various subjects in the Commerce and Humanities learning areas, including Literacy, Integrated Studies, Humanities, Law and Business Management. When it comes to life outside of school, I’m a keen percussionist and weekend surfer, as well as a budding triathlon enthusiast. I live locally and am thoroughly enjoying the last few hours of daylight pottering about the garden.

Linda Souleiman

My name is Linda Souleiman and I'm so incredibly happy to join the SASC family. I am currently teaching Science and Chemistry and have been thoroughly enjoying my time here. I only just recently graduated with my Masters of Teaching at the University of Melbourne after completing my Bachelor in Science with a major in Neuroscience. I also just recently got married and I'm still very new to the St Albans area (feel free to share your food recommendations!). I'm an avid traveller and enjoy exploring the nooks and crannies around Melbourne when I get the chance. I also enjoy a good night in playing board games like Catan and Agricola or conquering quirky new skills like knitting or solving Rubik's Cubes.

Marty Conboy

I most recently taught at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar and joined St Albans this year to teach English and Humanities. I live in Footscray with my wife, two kids and cat. I enjoy riding my bike to school and playing the guitar.

Yan Lau

My name is Yan, and I have been teaching English and Humanities for 13 years.

I began my teaching career at the Niddrie Campus of Essendon and Keilor College. During my years with the college, I had the pleasure of teaching English and Humanities with many dynamic, innovative and inspirational teachers. I have taught across all year levels, site co-ordinated in the English and Humanities departments and assisted in many other roles within the school. In the last few years, I have focused my teaching on Year 7's, 8's and 9's. I live with my husband, John, two daughters, Nina and Charlotte, and our dog Dixee, a Kelpie-Staffie cross. I love trying new food, visiting new places, meeting new people and travelling. At the time of writing this mini bio about me, my most recently read books include: the beautifully illustrated children’s version of Homer’s Odyssey by Gillian Cross and a Dr Seuss book called, I had trouble in getting to Solla Sollew. Interestingly, I have gone from reading one of the greatest tales ever (ok, the retelling of one of the greatest tales ever) to reading a short fun book about a cat-like character who, I think, kind of goes on his own odyssey whilst trying to get to Solla Sollew. Having digressed a little bit, I am very excited to be here at St Albans SC and I look forward to the challenges of teaching at this school this year.
