Middle School Report

Congratulations to all the Year 9 and 10 students for a smooth start to the year, and a successful term’s work.  It has been a busy month, and we have been joined by a number of new students at both year levels. A very warm welcome to you all!

A number of students have been involved in sports teams, both training for upcoming competitions and representing the school.  Over the next few weeks, Middle School students will represent the school in volleyball, cricket, baseball, futsal and rugby.  We wish them the best of luck.

Year 9 Activities

Thank you to the parents and families who attended the Parents’ Information evening on Thursday, 7 March. For those who were unable to attend, the PowerPoint of information is available on the parent portal on Compass.

On Friday, 8 March, Year 9 students participated in the annual swimming gala.  We were very pleased to see so many of the students entering the events and contributing to the chants and songs of the different houses.  Students studying Advance have participated in a number of activities as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award, including hikes and first aid training. Over the next few weeks there will also be excursions run by the Science department for students to conduct field work studies.

Year 10 Activities

Year 10 students were invited to attend the annual Year 11 and 12 soccer challenge, held this year on 8 March.  It was great to see so many students cheering and getting involved in the spirit of the competition.  A huge thank you to the Senior Sub School for inviting the Year 10s to the afternoon; it was a great success. On Thursday, 7 March, Ms Cowell also took a small group of female students to a women’s breakfast event run in the city.  The focus was on celebrating the achievements of women and building confidence in future generations.
