2018 Primary Diocesan Swimming Carnival

Moree Aquatic Centre has advised us on restrictions to the southern side of the pool, in order to minimise the risk of accidents such as trips and falls. During our Primary Diocesan Carnival, the southern area is a heavily used area.

Given that the Primary Diocesan Carnival is possibly the largest event the centre hosts, the operational limitations this change presents and associated safety risks, the school has given this contemplation and believes that our duty of care around safety considerations and efficiency to run the carnival requires us to review our position to host the event in 2018.

Therefore, regretfully St Philomena’s Moree will be unable to host the 2018 Primary Diocesan Carnival. St Mary’s Armidale has kindly agreed to step in and host the 2018 event. It is scheduled for Friday 23 February 2018

Our community has worked very hard to make this event the great success it has become. It is our hope to bring the carnival back to the black soil plains of Moree in 2019.
