Music Notes

Celebration Night
Nicole Bull, Academic Dean of Performing Arts
Congratulations to all those who performed at Celebration Night. All bands, choirs, drama and dance students and the massed singing were wonderful demonstrations of the enormous depth of talent we have within the Performing Arts Program at Kilvington Grammar. All performances were of a very high standard and provided a most enjoyable evening.
African Drumming Workshop
Years 7 and 8 students had the wonderful opportunity of attending African Drumming workshops as part of their Music program.
Students learnt the finer skills and techniques of djembe and dunun playing and also had some fun with intricate rhythmic patterns and syncopated ostinato patterns.
Volunteer Thank You Evening – Tuesday 27 November
Thank you to our talented music students James Puli, Ben Churilov, Jack Kirkham, Toshi Preston and Sarah Godfrey for recently performing at the Volunteer Thank You Evening. This was a great opportunity for our students to share their music with friends, family and staff.
Year 2 String Program Concert
We held the Year 2 String Program Concert on Tuesday 27 November. It was a show case of what the students achieved in just one year.
The concert showed their ability to play and perform as an ensemble both with melody and harmonies.
A big thank you to the parents for their support at home, and we hope many students will continue this journey in 2019!
