E-Books
E-Books (Electronic Books) are books you can borrow over the internet and open on any device that has an internet
connection. Over the last few weeks I have shown a
number of the students how to borrow ebooks. Below I have provided a list of instructions to login into our ebook library and borrow. All students need is the username they use at school to log into St Philomena's devices.
Overdrive is the name of the system we use. Please don’t hesitate to come and see me or give me a call if you have
any questions. It looks like a lot of instructions but that’s only because I was trying to make them as simplistic as
possible!
Bookclub
Don’t forget that all Bookclub orders need to be in by this Friday 18th March. Make sure you check out the LOOP
instructions for an easier way to order your Bookclub.
Caritas K's Fundraiser
Congratulations to the St Philomena's students who raised $1,439.75. These funds will greatly assist Caritas and Project Compassion which aims to end poverty and promote justice so the world's poor won't need to rely on charity.
2016 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)
Students across Year 2 to Year 10 have an opportunity to enter in the 2016 International Competitions and Assessment for Schools (ICAS).
The aims of the competitions are to monitor individual progress, recognise and reveal achievement and provide a comprehensive analysis of student performance. These competitions allow an opportunity for students to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external situation.
All entries and payment will need to be returned to the office no later than Wednesday 30th March 2016. These items are available for payment on the Qkr app. Contact the office for further information if you do not yet have access and are interested in paying this way.
Please note - the permission form still needs to be signed and returned to school.
