Years 8, 10, 12

It has been a fantastic term for students in Year 8, 10 and 12. Our Celebration Assemblies have highlighted the great work that students have done in the classroom on a consistent basis. Students have been rewarded for trying their personal best, making positive contributions to the class or school community, producing quality work, or demonstrating respect within the classroom environment. Those students that have consistently demonstrated and maintain these high expectations is what makes the Henry Kendall High School culture extremely positive and I look forward to it continuing throughout 2023.

Term 1 has seen students participate in the annual swimming carnival, school sporting competitions, music performances, year group excursions to Sydney and Mt Kosciusko and many other whole school events.

Congratulations to the students in Year 8 who participated in the Sustainability Market Garden Project which was held during break times. It was fantastic to see students out in the playground promoting sustainability and raising funds for World Vision.

One of the highlights for me this term was listening to Alexander McGavin’s insightful and empowering Lions Youth of Year Speech in which he read to the school community in the MPC. The message that he provided to our school was extremely powerful and he is a fantastic role model to our junior students at Henry Kendall High School. On behalf of the school community, I would like to congratulate Alexander on his outstanding achievement.

Finally, all students should now have received their assessment booklets which outlines their assessment tasks for each course for Term 1 and Term 2. Students were provided with hard copies of these booklets earlier this term, however, if they have misplaced them, they can be found on the school website or use the link below.

I hope all students and families have an enjoyable and restful Easter and I look forward to a positive Term 2.
