Sport News

Term 1 has seen a lot happening in sport around the school. We have seen it all; from carnivals, knockout competitions and Tuesday Sport afternoons.

In Week 5, Henry Kendall High School had 28 students represent the school at the Zone Swimming Carnival. All students swam their hearts out and cheered each other on. Particular mentions should go to Jun Heo, Cooper Manser, Henry McGavin and Haylie Green, who have advanced to the Sydney North Carnival to be held in the last week of term.

This term we have seen many knockout teams compete. While many of our teams saw valiant defeats, every student represented Henry Kendall High School with sportsmanship and commitment. Teams of mention are the boys soccer, boys cricket, boys basketball and girls touch football teams unfortunately lost in the first round of the competition.

The Open Boys Volleyball team defeated Lisarow High and Terrigal High to make it to the Sydney North Knockout Competition. Whilst the Open Girls volleyball team have defeated Narara Valley High in Round 1, and will face their next opponent BWSC - Woy Woy in the next round of the competition.

Whilst Tuesday Sport is concluding for Term 1, Year 7 have enjoyed taking part in ‘House Sport’, where they rotate through different sports each week and taking turns to complete their sport at Adcock Park. Year 7 were also able to choose their sport preferences for the first time in their high school life. They should be congratulated on their continued efforts each week and the enthusiasm they have brought to sport so far.

Term 2 sport does not slow down for anyone!! The Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals are fast approaching, as are the Zone Carnivals respectively. Henry Kendall High School will also have more sporting teams that will represent and we look forward to seeing them train hard to bring home glory. Term 2 will also see every student across the school participate in regular Tuesday sport, after choosing their preferences and securing a spot.

Term 2 sport permission and payment (if applicable) links have been emailed home to parents/caregivers. Please ensure that this is completed, so that students can jump straight into sport when they return.
