Student Services

Faculty

Student Services has had a very busy start to 2023 and we are very proud of the students who have come to the Student Services space. This term, we had Miss Sasha Fitzgerald join the team and she has become an integral part of the faculty. Miss Fitzgerald has had a busy start and I would like to acknowledge and congratulate her for coordinating NAPLAN for Year 7 and 9. It is also very important to say well done to all students for their maturity and determination.

Resilience in Ours Teens (RIOT) officially launched for Year 7 on Monday 27 March. Year 7 participated in the student workshop over the day. I was proud of the motivation, care and empathy displayed by students when talking about topics such as stress and anxiety.

In 2023, the RIOT team are looking to embed key topics throughout important  events within the school and provide a unique range of learning opportunities so we can work toward our three goals:

  • Students to become their own emotional coaches
  • Parents as key educators and stakeholders
  • Teachers who are confident and capable in working with anxious teens

We look forward to working with staff, students and our community to support stress and anxiety.

The Top Blokes program has been running across Term 1. We are very proud of all students involved and they must be acknowledged for their effort and contribution in the program. The program will continue to run for participants across Term 2.
