Message from the Principal

Mrs Bronwyn Underwood

Dear Parents and Carers,

This morning we celebrated our opening school Mass in St Michael's Church. It was wonderful to see many of our Parents, Carers, Grandparents and Parishioners in attendance. Our school leaders for 2023, Ruby Kenafick, Nicholas Gallagher, Riley Butcher and Ryan Elliott received their badges from Father Curran. Afterwards, a morning tea was served in our library.

This year we have welcomed sixteen beautiful Kindergarten students into our school. Congratulations to Stella Agnew, Thomas Aurisch, Cameron Burge, Darcy Coker, Max Coombes, Cooper Elliott, Rowan Eykamp, Max Hyles, Caleb Marshman, River McCallum, Erika Shepherd, Qunesha Sing-Adams, Archie Smith, Kahlia Spires, Jack Sullivan and Patricia Towns, for successfully navigating their first week in Kindergarten. Miss Fraser, Ms Todd and Mrs Williams are very lucky to have such wonderful students to work with. We also welcomed back Jet Martin into Year 3 and his brother Mason Johnston into Year 1.

This year, school uniforms will not be available from Budden's Hardware. At the moment, school uniform items are available from the school, but a long term solution is yet to be considered. Uniform sales are an agenda item at the upcoming P&F Meeting to be held in the staffroom commencing at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday February 14. The AGM will be held in March. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Buddens for their support of the school over many years. The school community very much appreciates the generosity shown to us by Buddens. Speaking of uniforms - a reminder that Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, children should be wearing plain black school shoes with no other colours. Your support in this area is greatly appreciated.

In Week 5 February 20 - 24, we will conduct our Personalised Planning Meetings. Amanda McNair our Inclusion Support Teacher will be in touch with relevant families to make a time.  On March 7 and 8, class teachers will be available for Parent/Teacher conferences. We will commence to schedule these in upcoming weeks. Wednesday March 29, will be our Meet and Greet evening with an Easter Hat Parade and Easter Egg hunt. More information will be forwarded as we get closer to the date. Please note, this will be after school event, suitable for the whole family and we look forward to a wonderful turn out. We have chosen the week before school breaks for the Easter holidays, as it will still be daylight savings.

The Reading Eggs subscription for students in K-3 has been renewed for this year. All children have a log in that can be utilised at home. Please contact class teachers if your child does not know their login to use at home.

This year our newsletter will be published fortnightly.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend.
