Kitchen Garden

Kitchen Garden Thursday 16th Feb

Last week we had a lot of fun in the garden and achieved so much in a short time.

The worms got some fresh chopped greens, we picked enough beans for everyone to take home a little bag full, we planted some broccoli, we fertilised the cucumbers, tomatoes and zucchini’s, and we gave the compost a mix. Thanks to Katrina, Lorrae, Libby, Peta and Melissa for helping. The children really enjoy it when family members join them in the garden and kitchen.

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have helped with the Kitchen Garden program so far this term, it has been lovely to meet and work with so many new faces.

Thank you you to Bella Goudy’s grandma, Libby, for donating lots of items that will be put to great use in the Kitchen Garden.

Thank you to Kaan and Mert Toruń’s family for gifting the Kitchen Garden program with a voucher to spend at Bunnings. This will be used to purchase some much needed quality secateurs for the garden.

Kitchen Garden Market Cart

The Kitchen Garden Market Cart will be set up on a regular basis during the year at the front of the school. It will be stocked with fresh produce from the garden and preserves made using ingredients from the garden.

The stall won’t always be ‘manned’ as Allesha will be working in the garden. It will work as an honesty system where you select the produce you’d like and make your donation.

Donations can be made by placing cash in the donation slot on the cart or making a donation via eftpos at the office and placing the receipt in the donation slot on the cart. Instructions are displayed on the cart. Days and times when the cart will be out will vary so keep updated through the schools communication channels.

The Kitchen Garden will also be offering $25 produce boxes at different times throughout the year. These will include a variety of fresh seasonal produce from the garden. Again, keep up to date through the schools communication channels.
