Year 5 Bandicoots and Dingos

The Year Fives have had a flying start to the school year. In Religious Education we have been discussing communities and how they provide for people's needs. We learnt that Jesus began the Church to help people relate with God and follow His example.

In Mathematics, we have been reading, writing and saying numbers into the billions and extending our knowledge of place values.

In HASS, we have begun a mini research project looking at the history of the early Australian penal colonies. Did you know that Tasmania was once know as Van Dieman's Land?!

This term we are excited to dive into our class novel study, 'Holes' and also develop our narrative writing skills.
