Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)

As you know, students from our school recently undertook an education tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able

to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist

the school and families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion and was factored into the Camp levy figure paid by parents for this particular activity.

Year 2 News

During class we have been reading the book 'The Most Magnificent Thing'. We have been learning to write instructions to show others how to make or do something and have been inspired to create our own 'Most Magnificent Things'.

After making our own 'Most Magnificent Thing', we needed to write our own set of instructions for someone in Year 2 to follow. We then needed to list the materials they needed, use verbs for each step, sequence the instructions in order and include a picture to help the builder.
