GROW Awards

GROW Awards are being awarded weekly across the school this term. Each Grow Award is added to their faction’s overall tally. Students are striving to be the leading faction by the close of Week 9, so they can win the end of term Faction Reward.

Faction Captains from the winning faction will decide what the reward will be, which will be held in Week 10. Teachers will be looking for the expected behaviours and all students have an opportunity to contribute to their faction’s overall tally!

GROW Awards are linked to Burrendah’s 4 R’s; Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Reach. These behaviour expectations are taught and modelled through the PBS curriculum.

PBS Expectations

The PBS behaviour expectation for Week 5

We are learning about the importance of notifying teachers if there is a problem.

When you do this, you are showing responsibility. This means:

  • We notify a duty teacher if someone is hurt.
  • We notify a teacher straight away if we see something or someone strange in/around the school.
  • We notify a teacher if we have tried to resolve our friendship problems first and it isn’t fixed.  Everywhere/Every time.

 ResponsibilityFollow toilet procedures.

We are learning how to follow toilet procedures.

When you do this, you are showing responsibility. This means:

  • We allow people to have privacy in the toilet.
  • We wash and dry our hands after going to the toilet.
  • We only use the bathroom for what we need it for.

*Teaching point – blowing your nose/covering nose and mouth when sneezing/coughing.
