Information for learning onsite

Who is eligible

It is important to remember that we are all expected to do our part in reducing the number of interactions and possible instances of transmission within the community. It is for that reason that the Victorian Government has declared that "all students who can learn at home must learn from home."

Parents are encouraged to explore all alternative options available before sending their children to learn onsite.

The onsite program during this period is a 'supervision only' program. This means that students will be supported to access their remote learning but there is no additional teaching that takes place. Unfortunately, it is quite dull for the students as there are many activities that are restricted to increase infection control at school.

Before attending, parents must complete and submit this form weekly, indicating the requested days of attendance. Students cannot attend the onsite program without a signed copy of this form having been submitted. Email completed forms to Ken at chatterton.kenneth.l@edumail.vic.gov.au

If you have submitted the form, the following information sheet is a quick reference for pick up/drop off and what students should bring.

Previous communications

Compass News Feed April 7

We finally received some clarity yesterday morning about school arrangements for Term 2. I know many of you have been anxious waiting for this information, as have I. I am expecting further details from the department later today but I understand time is of the essence. I don't believe there will be any significant changes with further department directions but as with everything at the moment, there is a big * attached to any communication.

I will try to keep this brief.

  • All schools will be delivering the curriculum through a remote learning model during Term 2. We do not have any indication what period of time this is for, we are prepared for all of Term 2.
  • "This means that from the start of term two all students who can learn from home must learn at home." (Vic Government message, Tuesday 7 April)
  • This applies to all children except for those "children on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made. This will be available for children of parents who cannot work from home, and vulnerable children." (Vic Government message, Tuesday 7 April)
  • School campuses will be open to provide a supervision program only - these will be staffed by limited numbers of willing staff but students will engage in the same remote learning program provided by their classroom teacher.

Compass News Feed April 10

"This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive by the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer.

All students will be learning from home, except for children on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made."

Reminder

As mentioned in my message earlier this week, we have set up an opt-in event on Compass for families to indicate that they intend to make use of the supervision program. Please ensure that you log on and opt-in if you think your children will need it at any time during remote learning. If, for any reason, you are unable to do this (Compass issues etc.) please email me directly to indicate that you are opting-in: chatterton.kenneth.l@edumail.vic.gov.au

Important: new information

Attached is an on-site attendance form that families need to complete and submit to the school before children attend. On this form you will indicate for the upcoming week which days you require your children to attend and for how long. It is important that this form is completed and submitted prior to children attending. It will need to be submitted weekly during this period.
