Red Group Report

Red Group have made a wonderful start to Term 4 with lots of exciting learning experiences.  Last week we celebrated National Water Week and Children’s Week.  Children have been learning about the importance of water and how we can all do our part to save water including using a watering can instead of a hose, putting containers in the sink to reuse water on the garden and using the half flush in the toilet.  Red Group had a wonderful time celebrating Children’s Week with an excursion to the Miners Rest Community Park with lots of collaborative play and safe risk taking.

Re-run

Miners Rest Kindergarten has registered as a collection point for the Bread Tags for Wheelchairs organization.

A box has been placed in the kindergarten and school foyers to collect plastic bread tags (or potato tags or whatever product you can collect them off).

These are then sold by the Bread Tags for Wheelchairs organization to a recycling company by the kilo who turn them into coasters, door knobs and tiles.

The money raised through the sale of the bread tags is used to purchase wheelchairs for people in need in South Africa.

The collection point is not restricted to kindergarten families and so please feel free to encourage your family and friends to collect too!
