Year 12 News

The Year 12 cohort were very busy the few weeks prior to the commencement of VCE exams. They VCE students enthusiastically completed their trial exams and received feedback from their teacher sand have now begun their VCE exams. Their behaviour over the last few weeks has been impeccable and we commend the students for all of their hard work during this time.

We wish the VCE students good luck for their continuing exams.

The VCAL students have been working very hard completing their TAFE courses and finishing their work placements. Well done to these students, we are very proud of your efforts in 2019.

All year 12 students participated in the Red Frogs Presentation on schoolies safety. The ‘Red Frogs’ assist school leavers in many different ways when celebrating finishing their final year. The team offers pancake cook ups, room visits and games, room cleans, emotional support and walks home to those on schoolies.  The program aims to educate students on how to maintain their own safety and the safety of others when celebrating.

The Year 12 team would also like to acknowledge the winners of footy tipping competition. Well done to home group 12F who scored the most correct tips together as a group. These students celebrated together with a hot chip lunch. Well done on your efforts.

The Dream Catcher Program for Year 12 students and their Year 7 buddies were also lucky enough to have a special guest come and speak to them about life beyond secondary school. Deena Harding, a former student and part of the Mornington Secondary College Alumni program, spoke to the students about her journey to becoming a Vet. The students had lots of interesting questions for Deena who was very happy to share. Deena detailed her journey from graduating secondary school to becoming ‘Dr. Harding’ and even shared some fascinating stories about what she has seen in the clinic. Thanks Deena for visiting the college and inspiring our students to ‘Dare to Dream’.

The year 12 team had a wonderful time celebrating with the Year 12 cohort the end of their school days on their final day and also at the Valedictory Dinner.
