Athletic's Carnival

Athletic's Carnival

What a big Term 1 in Sport it has been!

After the success of our swimming carnival, we were keen to replicate this in our Annual Athletics Carnival.

On Thursday 21st March approximately 900 Rosehill Secondary College students attended Aberfeldie Athletics Park.

Diamond House were determined to keep top spot and the other houses (Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire) were hungry to snatch away victory!  The muggy weather didn’t stop students from running, jumping and throwing in many events held across the day.

The very impressive Year 12 costumes were displayed during the opening lap of the track and the day was officially opened by our School Captains.  Competition commenced and students competed in many events showing off all their athletic talent.  Student participation was fantastic and every student should be proud of their efforts on the day.

The house points came down to the wire, waiting for the final high jump event to determine our winner. With the narrowest of margins (4 points), Diamond House reigned victorious once again over Emerald followed by Ruby and Sapphire.

Well done to all those students who placed in their respective events and who have qualified for the District Inter School Carnival in Term 3.

A big thank you to all staff for their assistance on the day. The day ran smoothly due to a combined effort from all Staff and Helpers.

Well done!
