Atwell Youth Art Awards

On Thursday 13 June the Atwell Youth Art Awards presentation was held.  This year John Wollaston had 11 students enter the exhibition including Harriet Butterfield-Cole, Karrina Cain, Jamie Kuchel, Brianna Morley, Max Morrison, Katie Percival, Emily Salmon, Ella Dodds, Carmina Farano, Mia Chellew and Freya Kerfoot. Congratulations to all these students on their exhibition pieces. 

 

Four students received awards for their artwork including:

  • Freya Kerfoot – Highly Commended – Drawing as an Art Form Year 10 – for her drawing ‘Beauty in Bloom’
  • Carmina Farano – Highly Commended – Year 11 – for her painting ‘Vindictive Virtue’
  • Harriet Butterfield-Cole – Winner – Terra Boys Arts Award for Creative Imagination in 3D – for her sculpture ‘The Mining State’
  • Karrina Cain – Winner – Year 12 – for her painting ‘Surrounded by All my Friends’

Alison Gangwar, Year 6

Congratulations to Alison Gangwar, Year 6 who recently received a B+ for her Preliminary AMEB Piano Exam. It is a fantastic effort and a great confidence booster for Alison who will be participating in the ASC Piano Competition later this month. We wish you all the best!

 

ACC Inter-School Cross Country Carnival

Congratulations to the Secondary Inter-School Cross Country team who recently competed in the ACC Inter-School Cross Country Carnival. They produced some great results in races with between 300-350 competitors. Special congratulations goes out to the following students on their individual results:

  • Samantha Wood - U15 Girls - 22nd
  • Dylan Bailey - U16 Boys - 24th
  • Emily Bailey - U14 Girls - 26th
  • Olivia Dodds - U14 Girls - 38th
