The Most Reverend Kay Goldsworthy AO, Archbishop of Perth speaks with ELC students, June 2019.
It was a pleasure to welcome The Most Reverend Kay Goldsworthy AO, Archbishop of Perth to the School on Wednesday 5 June as part of our Bishops-in-Residence program. Archbishop Kay spent the day in the School commencing with a Staff Reflection, followed by Secondary House and Primary Chapel services, meeting with student leaders, visiting classrooms and speaking with staff. As a former school Chaplain, Archbishop enjoyed her time in the school setting, engaging with staff and students and fielding a variety of questions about her role, God and the Bible.
ASC Senior Staff Retreat
Principals, senior staff and Chaplains of the ASC in WA gathered at the St John of God Retreat Centre in Shoalwater last weekend for our annual retreat. Archbishop Kay was the retreat conductor and she delivered an inspiring series of addresses on the theme Out of the Shallows - in deep water with Jesus. Incorporating music, visual imagery, biblical references and her own experience, participants were able to clear their minds and focus on the importance of God in our lives.
Academic Scholarship Examinations Tomorrow
It is very pleasing that we have a large number of candidates sitting the Academic Scholarship Examinations tomorrow. Candidates include students from John Wollaston and other non-government and government schools. Policy and Programs Coordinator, Karen Ayres and Senior Deputy Head of Primary, Fiona Shand will be present for the duration of the testing which will be administered and supervised by Academic Assessment Services staff, independent of the School. Mrs Shand will be conducting a tour of the campus at 8:45am, so if you haven't had an opportunity to see some of our wonderful new facilities, you are most welcome to join the tour.
With good wishes.
