Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Friends and Students,

We have had a busy week with the Camp Information Night on Wednesday, Sacramental sessions for many parents on Wednesday night and our School Advisory Board meeting last night for our Annual General Meeting. I would like to thank retiring members, co- chairperson,  Mrs Belinda Swannie and also Mr Dee Papadopoulos for their efforts during a  period of growth and stability over their three years on the Board. With change we now warmly welcome Mrs Kellie Budge, who is returning to the Board after an absence of 3 years, and Mrs Kristin Rowell who joins our Board for the first time. I look forward to their efforts over the next two years.

Our School Advisory Board are a group of parents whom provide advice on a variety of matters to myself- chiefly including school environment, communication and policy. Major roles for this year  include helping the school with the 2019 Review, helping with the Master Planning process, guiding infrastructure, maintenance and development and connecting our community with our school.

A further reminder that on Wednesday 27th February we have our Parent and Staff Interviews for students in Year 1-6. Interviews are booked on-line through this link:-

A reminder also that there is an early finish at 1.30pm to enable staff to begin interviews at 2pm. For those whose children regularly attend out-of-school care Moira has said she will be open from 1.30pm on this day. At the meeting please take the time to provide your child’s teacher with any helpful information for them, at this stage. Should you need more than 10 minutes you will need to make another appointment. Educating your child is done in partnership between home and school and establishing a positive relationship right from the start in meeting with the class teacher is very helpful in achieving this.

Our school needs to continue to work towards being the school of first choice for families of faith in the Seaford area.  For those of our current families that have a child who will be starting school in 2020 please collect an enrolment form from the office and return it at the earliest opportunity. Thanks for those who have already done this! As part of promoting and growing our school we have an Open Morning for new families on Wednesday 28th February at 9.15am. For the fifth year I have now visited a large number of Kinders and Childcare Centres within our Parish boundaries to invite prospective families. However, without a doubt, our best referrals come from our own families. If you know of a family who may be interested in St Anne’s for their child/ren please feel free to let them know about this upcoming event.

Next week Fr Benneth leads a tour to the Holy Lands of 35 people, many from our Parish. We wish him every success, and great joy, with this pilgrimage. In his absence our school will continue to hold weekly liturgies from each class on a rotational basis as an expression of our faith.

God’s blessings in abundance to you all

Rod Shaw,

Principal
