Performing Arts Update
Students at Jells Park Primary School have been getting straight into learning instruments this term in Performing Arts. Students across all year levels have been learning new skills that combine rhythm and melody simultaneously to create music! Foundation, Level 1 and 2 have begun using small percussion instruments to create rhythm, as well as using syllables to create lyrics that match rhythm. Levels 3 and 4 have been learning riffs on the xylophone and Levels 5 and 6 have begun strumming away on the ukulele’s, learning basic chords and chord patterns.
Choir has also started back, with Junior and Senior Choir combining this year to create a ‘Whole School Choir’. Practices are on during lunchtime on Friday in the Performing Arts room with Miss Gaudion and Mrs Friebel. This is currently open to Level 1 - 6 with Foundation students being invited to attend later this term/early term 2.
