A few weeks ago I shared this beautiful prayer in Woodchatta. This was written by Mrs Therese Maclaine, one of our parents. With the needs being so great in our drought effected areas, I thought we need to keep praying for the communities in need.
As we consider our environment and how it is affected by global warming let us pray for those in our drought affected Australian regional communities.
We pray for our neighbours in New South Wales who are dealing with the shocking reality of drought. Families and the wider communities are under extreme pressure in managing their limited resources between themselves and their stock.
We pray for the resilience of the farmers to manage their way through these tough times.
We pray for those who may not ask for help, to be recognised and cared for in their communities.
We pray for the most precious gift of rain in these areas which will bring life to the dirt and in turn the plant life will feed the stock.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Blessed Edmund Rice - pray for us
St Pius X - pray for us
Live Jesus in our hearts - forever.
I urge all parents and members of our College community to support the range of initiatives we have in place to help. In particular I ask for your support of the Drought Relief Appeal Raffle. We have 100 prizes of jewellery!
Tickets will be sent home with the boys by the end of this week. These tickets will also be on sale at the major events in coming weeks such as the Rugby Presentation Evening, the Football Presentation Evening, our Fathers’ Day events, Twilight Concert and the like. I attach below my letter which was sent to the College Community yesterday.
We give thanks for all our dads and granddads. We pray for all fathers and thank them for the gift that they are to each of us. I wish all our dads a very happy Fathers’ Day for Sunday. We will honour our fathers at a number of school events and I remind you of the invitation to the following:
Congratulations to Harrison Littrich, Class of 2016, who recently graduated from the RAAF School of Technical Training Wagga, 4/17 RAAF ATECH course. Harrison graduated as a RAAF Aircraft Technician and his posting is 77 squadron Williamtown. This is a wonderful achievement and we send Harrison our best wishes for his future.
I am very pleased to advise the College community that I have appointed Mr Sean Brannan to the position of Assistant Principal - Pastoral Care. This role is a newly restructured position which was formerly named Head of Student Services. Among the many responsibilities in this role will be the coordination of the Pastoral Care programs, policy and processes including the College Counselling services.
On behalf of the College community I congratulate Mr Brannan and thank him for his continued service to the school.
Mr John Couani - Principal
