Year 7 Music meet BlueScope Youth Orchestra

As part of our Stage 4 Music unit “Instruments of the Orchestra”, Year 7 students participated in a workshop and concert in the college hall on Friday April 13 with the BlueScope Youth Orchestra from Wollongong. BlueScope Youth Orchestra comprises youth from the Illawarra region who have attained an impressive level of skill on their instruments. Each of our four Year 7 Music classes experienced a one hour workshop where they were able to play an orchestral instrument and receive tutoring from the players in the orchestra. It was wonderful to see how well the year 7 students responded to this intense time of learning and the final performances by them reflected their hard work and openness to be part of this opportunity.
Students who are interested in furthering their music education are invited talk to Mr Thompson and Mr Chaston about continuing lessons and participation in ensembles at the college.
