Wagga Wagga ANZAC Day March
On Anzac Day we remember those Australian men and women who died or suffered serving their nation in war.
2018 is particularly significant as we will recognise the close of World War One in November.
On the 25 April our College was represented at the formal ceremony by our College Captains, Amy Li and Jackson Weidemann, who lay a wreath on the Cenotaph at the Memorial Gardens during the formal ceremony. Other College leaders including Frances Heffernan, Marnie Broughton, Molly Garry, Abbey Lyons, Cameron Linsell and Mitchell Ivey also represented our College in the ANZAC Day march.
Kildare ANZAC Service in College Hall
The Kildare Catholic College ANZAC Day service for 2018 was held on Tuesday May 1. The moving ceremony was led by 11 Modern History students who noted the centenary of World War 1 and prayed for a world of peace as a result of sacrifices made by those who have served our nation. A video presentation informed the College of the historical background of ANZAC Day as well as providing personal statements about the meaning and relevance of ANZAC.
The Ode was recited by student, Lucy Ferguson while The Last Post and The Rouse were played by teacher Robert Thompson.
