Rod Whelan

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the effort and support of Term 1 and welcome back for Term 2. Parents and carers, thank you for continuing to work with Kildare staff to provide best opportunities for students. Please remember to call early if you have a concern about student learning and wellbeing.

Here is another reminder about Kildare SchoolTV. Please look at this site. It is a high quality and current resource that provides clear information and sound advice on a range of issues that may concern or impact children and adolescents.

The employment of psychologist Kylie Campbell has allowed another level of support for student care and wellbeing. Kildare SchoolTV complements Kylie’s work and she strongly recommends it as excellent first source of reliable information. Please contact the appropriate Academic Care & Wellbeing Coordinator or a member of the leadership team if you wish to discuss specific or general issues relating to student wellbeing, including requests for support from Kylie.

Nominations were invited for the College Council last term. Please contact me or Narelle Potts on 6932 6100 if you would like to serve on the College Council. It is an advisory board that supports me in leading the College. The main qualities required are an interest in student learning and wellbeing and a collaborative nature. Current members make an excellent team and they are seeking two more parents/carers of Kildare students to join them. Meetings are held monthly during school terms.
